With Business Central Next release 2023 Release Wave 1, Microsoft is doing multiple enhancements.

When user create and post a Transfer Order in Business Central with some incorrect Item No. or incorrect quantity business central had no provision to fix corrections.

With Business Central 2023 Release Wave 1, if user discovers a mistake in a quantity after posting a transfer order, if the shipment isn’t received you can easily correct the quantity.

Feature Details 

• The Posted Transfer Shipment page, a new action is added Undo Shipment. With this action system creates corrective lines –

• The value in the Quantity Shipped field is decreased by the quantity you’ve undone.
• The Qty. to Ship is increased by the quantity you’ve undone.
• The Correction checkbox is selected for the lines.

• If customer is using Warehouse, during shipment of transfer order System will also create Warehouse shipment and during Undo Shipment system will also create a corrective line is created in Posted warehouse shipment also.

• To complete the correction, reopen the transfer order, enter the correct quantity and post the order again. If Warehouse shipment is used then ship the order, create and post the New Warehouse shipment.

Demo

• Search, Open and Create a Transfer order.

• Ship the Transfer order.

• Open Posted Transfer Shipment and Line Actions, Select Undo Shipment.

• The Lines Selected for Undo and New Line created will also be marked as Correction Line as shown below in Page Inspection.

• Open Transfer Order to check impact of Undo Shipment. Quantity shipped will be Zero for Lines which are selected in Undo Shipment. 

Limitation 

• User cannot undo a posted transfer shipment if the items is reserved. For these scenarios user have to cancel the reservation. 

• Undo Transfer Shipment line cannot be processed if Receipts is done.
