MSDYN365BC - Good News for Indian Customers/Partners.

Hi Readers,

As  I stated in past to hold on, that there's light at the end of the tunnel.

Finally that day arrived, Microsoft have finally announced Business Central for India is a public preview only.

Yes, its only in Preview yet so there is no much to do but its a good start and we need to start working toward the future.

#BusinessCentral, #Msdyn365bc, #IndiaLocalization

What Does That Mean?

I know there are lot of questions with this update but I will wait to hear it from Microsoft in future.

As we all know that upgrades to Business Central 15 and higher is only happens from Business Central 14.

The Last Release that we had for IN Localization is Dynamics NAV 2016. I am sure Microsoft will be working on that and we will hear later about it.

Let's wait for October when General Availability is announced for  Business Central 17 (aka 2020 Release Wave 2).

What I can do Now?

  1. Setup a Environment either using Azure VM or Local Docker Container using Public Preview.
  2. Run through base India Features to check how it works.
  3. Identify the delta that you will need to work for your customers customization.
  4. Start working on PTE (per tenant extension) for your customers.
  5. Learning AL Programming.
How to Setup Docker Environment ?
  • Run PowerShell Query to Install BCContainerHelper.

  • Download the PowerShell query from the link below and run locally.

** Based on Internet Speed it will setup local docker container for you.
  • Results of PowerShell query.

Here is how it looks after docker is setup?

Here are Extension preloaded for India Release?

A total of 29 Extension for Indian Localization including GST,  Reports, Tax, TCS and TDS.

Buckle up Developers and Consultants!

Hope you find information useful.
