In this article, we will discuss how we can create a New Service Tier for Business Central 2019 Wave 2.
Yes, we can do it from the administration panel, but I think we should start working all our NAV / Business central Administration via Powershell.
For this article, lets support I need to create a new service for my blog articles with the following parameters.
You can setup other parameters like database name and server name.
Let's discuss step by step.
1. Open Powershell as administrator.
2. Import-Module for Business Central Wave 2 and refresh command panel on the right.
Import-Module 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central\150\Service\NavAdminTool.ps1'
3. Search and use cmdlet New-NAVServerInstance to create a new service and specify Parameter as listed above.
4. Run the command.
New-NAVServerInstance -ManagementServicesPort 15050 -ServerInstance BC150Blog -ClientServicesCredentialType Windows -ClientServicesPort 15051 -DeveloperServicesPort 15054 -ODataServicesPort 15053 -SOAPServicesPort 15052
5. Start New Service. Use the Cmdlet Start-NAVServerInstance.
Start-NAVServerInstance -ServerInstance BC150Blog

- Management Service Port - 15050
- Client Service Port - 15051
- SOAP Service Port - 15052
- ODATA Service Port - 15053
- Development Service Port - 15054
