Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 - Embed Help within NAV.

Hi Readers,

As we are discussing new features in Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Today we will discuss a cool feature that I found out in Dynamics NAV 2017.

For Already Published Articles about NAV 2017, Click Here.

As there are some great video tutorials available online on you tube that can be used by the customers when they implement Dynamics NAV. But the problem is information is so scattered that you end up suggesting multiple channels on you-tube that they can look for.

With Microsoft Dynamics NAV, that is no longer a problem.

In Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017, Microsoft have introduced a page where you can look for setup & help videos within Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

As a Partner we can populate data with following options which users can use at any given point of time -

  1. Help Link.
  2. Video Link.
  3. Assisted Setup Link.
  4. Product Tour.
All The Information can also be grouped based on your wish.

Microsoft have currently setup Help and Video Links from YouTube Channel under 05 Groups.
  1. Get Started with Financials.
  2. Work With Journal.
  3. Get the most out of Reports and Forecasting.
  4. Install Extensions to add features and integrations.
  5. Customize Settings to fit your needs.
Navigate to Departments/Administration/Application Setup/General and Select Setup & Help Resources.

Select the Appropriate Group and then Select View from action Ribbon to see content inside Group.

Right Now all the video content are the videos of Dynamics 365 Financials, but we can update that right.

We can have all good videos posted from great community members, that we can embed within the application for customer help.

Behind the scene, the table that contain all this data is 1803 - Assisted Setup.

Are you ready to prepare a List of URL that you will be importing for your next customer?

Let me know your views on the article / feature.

Regards,
Saurav Dhyani
