* Below steps are done in NAV 2013 R2, steps remain Same for NAV 2009 and onward.

Step 1 - Create a Codeunit in Navision to get inventory.

I have created a Codeunit 50000 with Two Functions as of Now, One to validate Item No. Received from external application and second to calculate inventory of item and return value to External Application.

Step 2 - Create & Publish a Web Service in Navision.

Open the Role Tailored client and publish the Codeunit 5000 as web service.
* How to publish a web service....

Step 3 - Create a Windows Based Application in Visual Studio.
* Following images are from visual studio 2010, remain same for previous version too.

1. Open Microsoft Visual Studio from start Menu.
2. Select Windows Forms Application.

3. Do the designing part, what we need is (Using Toolbox)-
 - Two Text Box
1 - User will end Item No.
2 - To Display Value Returned from Navision.
 - A Button to Call the Navision Function.
