Numbering in NAVISION...

Hi all,

I always used to get confused during development about numbering of objects & fields.

Today i browsed and found out a link which explain mostly all the commonly used numbering patterns in Navision.

Let me summarize them -

1) Objects Numbers have following bifurcations -

2) The fields in Microsoft Dynamics NAV are grouped as indicated in the following table.

3) Standard Reports are grouped based on Application areas as below -

4) Codeunits are also grouped based on there Final Digits.

Also as per Microsoft Article -
"Do not use the object numbers 99,000 - 99,999 for objects that you create, even though they are in the customer design area. The training material for Microsoft Dynamics NAV uses these numbers."

The detailed article can be found at MSDN.

Hope this helps someone who have same doubts like me.
