How to Start Navision Application Server?

Hi all,

We always face issues while using NAS.
Lets discuss how we can install, configure and use Navision Application Server (NAS).

Go to Server Folder in the installation disk of the Navison version for which you want to start the Navision Application server.

Install the server on the disk.

This will create a service, go to services.msc to change the startup parameter of the service and use an administrative account to start the service.

Then go to the installed folder, generally it get installed inside the program files.

Copy the path from the address bar.

Go to cmd.exe and change the current drive by typing cd and paste the path of the server folder.

When you are inside the folder in dos mode type the below given command to start the NAS server.
server servername = “IP Address:Port No.”,nettype = tcp, database=”database Path”

You will receive a message in the DOS window which tells you that NAS server has been setup successfully.

Don’t close the window and start the fin.exe of the client, and go to open a database.

In the server name type the ip address and port number you given in the command.

In database name window leave it blank.

In authentication use windows authentication.

Make sure that net type is set to TCP.
